Grandma Kai

20/05/2026

Grandma Kai is blind and, for many years, cared lovingly for her husband after he suffered a stroke. We previously supported the family by helping to renovate their home to make it safer and more accessible.

Mr Somkiat does whatever work he can find. Often, when we visit, he's out working. On those days, we leave a meal hanging on the doorpost, so he knows he's not forgotten. It's a simple gesture — but it's a reminder that compassion, consistency and care really do matter.

HANDS staff, Som and Jom, recently attended a two‑day workshop at Echo Asia, learning about biochar, water filtration and how agricultural waste can be transformed into practical, long‑term solutions that benefit both the land and the community. An inspiring step toward more sustainable futures.

Boxing Academy

13/03/2026

We were honoured and happy to be asked to support a local Boxing Academy, an initiative that uses Muay Thai as a powerful tool to protect, guide, and empower children and youth.
This academy was established to keep children and young people away from drugs and negative influences many of whom face family and financial challenges.

We were truly delighted to support Nang Ging with the gift of a brand-new walker. For some time, the previous one had been held together with tape simply to remain usable—a powerful testament to Nang Ging's resilience and unwavering determination to maintain independence.

Our work includes reaching out to disadvantaged and vulnerable families and communities in the region. Many of them live with a high level of uncertainty as to 'what tomorrow may bring for themselves and their families. Their limited access to services, and the daily challenges that come with displacement, take a toll on their mental health too....
