The Dignity Club is a compassionate initiative by HANDS that provides personalised care and support to elderly, disabled, and isolated individuals in the communities we serve.
Many of these peole are struggling with loneliness, poverty, and limited access to basic services.
With few external support systems available, HANDS has stepped in to meet a wide range of needs. Each person we assist is unique, so our help is tailored accordingly.

Grandma Bor
In February 2020, the HANDS Team learned of Grandma Bor, an elderly widow who had been living in a fragile makeshift shack for four years. With no pension, savings, or family support, she was unable to work and faced the approaching monsoon season. Friends asked if HANDS could help weatherproof her shelter.
Instead, HANDS decided to build her a small new home. Local builders, volunteers, community members, council officials, teachers, and students all contributed time, materials, food, and funds. Even the district council head joined in to support the effort.
Within two weeks, Grandma Bor moved into her new home, safe from the storms and surrounded by the care of her community. She enjoyed her home for five years before passing away, knowing she was seen, valued, and loved.
