A home for Mr. Somkiat

After a life‑changing accident that led to the amputation of his leg, Mr Somkiat has continued to face each day with quiet determination. When we first met him, the structure he was living in was unsafe and close to collapse, and he had to rely on his sister's bathroom in another house. Five years ago, HANDS was able to step in and help build Mr Somkiat a small, safe home of his own, along with a bathroom — restoring both dignity and independence. 

Mr Somkiat does whatever work he can find. Often, when we visit, he's out working. On those days, we leave a meal hanging on the doorpost, so he knows he's not forgotten.It's a simple gesture — but it's a reminder that compassion, consistency and care really do matter.
