Our community development projects typically include the provision of clean water supplies, food production and housing. We also encourage and support the development of new skills and initiatives that will generate income for poor families and communities, through micro-enterprise projects, fish farming and fruit or vegetable farming, to name but a few.
We support rural schools with renovation projects and the provision of equipment and transportation for students. We also run a sponsorship programme, which allows children and young people to benefit from an education that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
We have been actively involved in the prevention of child trafficking and the rescue of children for over 10 years. These are children who often have no legal status and who do not appear on any official registers. Children are rescued and either returned to their families or cared for at one of our hostels.
We also provide emergency relief to people displaced by conflict inside Burma, who come to Thailand seeking refuge. This typically includes the provision of basic necessities for people in desperate and urgent need; food, clothing, mosquito nets, blankets and medical help. |
