hands is dedicated to caring for those without hope and speaking for those without voice. We want to see people’s lives changed, regardless of their cultural, ethnic or religious background. We are committed to providing protection for people who are exploited, vulnerable to abuse, fleeing oppression, or suffering persecution; struggling without even the most basic of human rights.
Our mission is to serve the deprived and marginalized communities of South East Asia, particularly those living in the hilltribe areas of northern Thailand. We work with displaced peoples from Burma, who cross into Thailand seeking safety. We also work to combat the trafficking of children from the Akha, Lahu and Shan hill tribes of northern Thailand, who live in some of the most deprived and difficult regions of South East Asia. Our main activities focus on creating secure environments for children at risk of exploitation, providing employment and training opportunities for refugees and displaced persons and organising relief aid to victims of conflict, emergency situations and natural disasters.
